European rail operators are considering cancelling a number of routes in Dubai to avoid disrupting flights to the Persian Gulf state.
The European Railways said it is considering changing the routes of some services, such as flights to Dubai and Volari, to avoid disruptions.
A Eurostar spokesperson said the airline is assessing the situation and considering how to mitigate the impact on customers.
Dubai, the United Arab Emirates capital, is a hub for travel across the Middle East and Africa.
The capital is also home to a major military base, where US forces are based.
The decision to cancel the services follows a decision by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority to suspend flights to Volarisi, which is also part of the country’s airspace.
The DCAA said it has suspended flights to both Volarivis and the Doha airport to ensure the safety of travellers.
The move comes after a report by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) earlier this year that found the UAE is not adequately monitoring and managing air traffic in the country.
The GAO concluded that “no credible information exists that shows a single, cohesive strategy or program to address air safety and security concerns in the region”.
